For those who see therapy as an investment in their mental health and overall wellness, my current rates for sessions are as follows:
- Individual 45-minute session: $350
- Couples one-hour session: $450
I am an
out-of-network provider, which means I can provide you a superbill each month for you to collect possible, reimbursement benefits.
Most of my clients who come to see me prefer not to use insurance to cover for sessions. This is because the treatment must be
“medically necessary” and require a diagnosis to be covered by insurance.
I believe that many relationship problems or reasons for therapy are not mental health disorders but wellness issues.
Insurance companies also require disclosures of what I believe should be confidential and limit treatment sessions based on what they deem is necessary.
Hence, I don’t see accepting in-network insurance as being in the best interest of my client or their therapy. If you have additional questions, we can speak about this during your phone consult.
That said, if you prefer to use insurance, you can check your out-of-network benefits with your insurance company. Clients can also use their flexible spending plan to pay for therapy.
To use your out-of-network benefits, please call your insurance company and ask the following questions:
- Do I have coverage for out-of-network mental health outpatient visits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- What percentage of therapy fees are covered? CPT codes include: consultation 90791.90, individual therapy 90834, and couples therapy 90847
- How many visits are covered in a calendar year?
I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.

My clients include individuals and couples. I’ve also worked with twin siblings, mother-daughter dyads, and more. So, I mostly help people who are stuck in one way or another in their relationships. Many are South-Asian; many are not.
The reality is managing relationships is hard work, and we don’t always know how to keep things on track or fix them when they’re broken. This can include a friendship issue, romance issue, or balancing relationships with our family and partner. Let’s work to help you take care of yourself in a way that allows you to show up better for other people in your life, including your children.
And, because relationships impact all other major parts of our lives, I also see clients who struggle with their identity, anxiety, depression, work, or other life stressors.

In pre-COVID days, we would meet and chat as we get to know each other. Now we do the same over Zoom. Our initial sessions will still focus on developing an understanding of what’s going on and formulating a plan of action to help you reach your goals. We may explore your previous history and think about other possible areas to focus on.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and interactive. I share my thoughts and feelings in session frequently and help you understand what may be getting in the way. With my training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness, I often ask you to engage in activities or exercises outside of session. These can include reading books, journaling, practicing mindfulness, and completing other reflective exercises that I believe will help.
We will also periodically review your goals, see how things are going, and set new and different goals, as needed.
A vast majority of people tell me that they wish they had started therapy sooner. This is because starting therapy when in crisis means we’ve already neglected the problem longer than we should have.
Unfortunately, however, many things get in the way of following through with therapy. The most cited concerns include: Do I have the time? Are my problems THAT bad? Does this mean I’m crazy? Doesn’t everyone have conflict in their relationships?
South Asians can also add the following concerns as a hindrance to therapy: It’s frowned upon in my community to go outside the family! How can someone else possibly help me in my particular situation? Or it costs too much!

My personal favorites include Headspace (which is great for beginners to mindfulness or meditation), Calm, Insight Timer, and Zen Meditation. These are apps I personally use and often refer to my clients. Do try them out and let me know which ones you like. Enjoy!
I was raised in a family that loves dogs and am a big fan as well. You may often see or hear my two fur babies in virtual sessions because they like to pop in now and then. That said, I’m cool with cats, horses, elephants, rabbits… basically anything except reptiles. Those freak me out.
